January each year is Tamworth Country Music Festival time, and I always look forward to it. This year was my 3rd year, and probably the best year so far. I got to catch up with heaps of old friends and made some new ones.

We headed down on the Thursday before for a very long 10-hour drive, and set up camp in our caravan at the Tamworth Pony Club. This year we camped with Chris Cobb and his family and it was great to have them with us.

My first gig was on Saturday 17th where I was the first act for the Riverside & Takeaway Stage. I had a half hour set, but the next act didn’t show up, so I called on Chris to come up on stage with me and we were able to sing a few songs together.

I had a full day on Sunday, starting with a Writers in the Round session at the Post Office Hotel, then a set at The Atrium Festival Stage and finished up at the North Tamworth Bowling Club where I was the discovery act at FRETfEST. We then headed on down to Toyota Park to watch my friend Jarrod Wriggley take out the Start Maker competition.

Monday was just as busy with performances at the Oasis Hotel, Tamworth Hotel and then I joined all my CMAA Junior Academy class mates on the Fanzone Stage.

Wednesday was my next big day with another performance at the Oasis Hotel and then off to the North Tamworth Bowling Club for another set.
Along the way, I had the chance to play with a few of my friends and has some special performances with Chris Cobb at the Powerhouse Hotel.

And in the middle of it all, I got to take part in a special photo shoot with Nigel Malone of 5point6pioctures photography. He was doing a special gallery shoot for next years festival, and I got to be part of it along with some other big names in country music. Stay tuned for some awesome photos.
